Hi,

I am a Danish freelance translator. I use a PC and my CAT tool is Dejavu. How do I create the Apple glossary as a TMX file. Do i need to own a MAC?

You do not need one. But having a mac makes it a lot easier. With your PC, you have to find first a way to open .dmg (disk image) file by which Apple delivers glossary files. Second, you need to have a tool that converts .ad files (found in the above image) to TMX. I am not sure if there is such a tool available in PC world. The conversion can be done by a scripting language such as Perl. You may want to ask people in the community for the availability.

Hi!
I see the posts are all old, but 'm going to try asking you something anyway.
I translate Italian into English. Wordfast Pro can't use my AppleTrans generated TMX because it reads them Eng to It instead of the other way around. Wordfast support have been extremely helpful, they say the tmx is labelled as ITA to Eng but the TUs Eng to ITA. In preferences My Tm happily tells me it is ITA to ENg. How do I change the labels on the actual TUs?

Thank you,
Sally
